Mod install stops or restarts at "checking status"

A bug in versions before 1.42.1 could cancel an install while the app checked the game status. Update and install again.

Symptom

You press Install, the progress bar starts, then it stops or jumps back while the page says it is checking the game status.

Cause

In app versions before 1.42.1 the status check running in the background could interrupt a mod download. Fixed in 1.42.1.

Fix

  1. Update the app: the top bar shows Update when a new version is waiting, or download it from tikcontrol.io/download.
  2. Open the game page and press Uninstall Mod to clear the half-finished install.
  3. Press Install again and wait for the green tick.

If that did not help

Some antivirus tools quarantine mod files as they are written. Check the antivirus history, restore the files, and add the game folder to its exclusions. Then open Get Help and send diagnostics.
