Text-to-speech says nothing, or only for some viewers

Symptom

Chat messages are not read out, or only certain viewers are read.

Fix

1. Open the TTS settings from the sidebar and make sure the main toggle is on. Press the test button: if the test is silent, check the Windows output device and the app's volume.
2. Check the access rules: TTS can be limited to followers, gifters, fan-club members or a minimum fan level. Viewers outside the rule are skipped by design.
3. Messages longer than the length limit are cut. Raise the limit if you want longer messages read.
4. Premium voices need a Pro or Ultra plan. On Free the app uses the Windows voices.

If that did not help

Open Get Help and send diagnostics with the name of a viewer who was skipped: the log shows why each message was or was not read.
